What the published disclosure says

Personal CDs — one-year penalty threshold

First Citizens National Bank of Upper Sandusky publishes a three-month loss of interest for CD terms of one year or less. For terms longer than one year, the published penalty is six months of interest. Its personal CD page describes available terms from six months to five years and separates these early-withdrawal charges from its statement that there are no setup or maintenance fees.

Limits to check in your own agreement

This is the Ohio institution identified by firstcitizensnational.com, not another First Citizens bank. The page does not explain the penalty’s month conversion, annual day basis, calculation balance, principal-reduction treatment, or maturity grace period. Confirm the original term and opening or renewal disclosure before applying the schedule to an existing CD.
