Certificates of deposit — 3–60 month terms
Lyndon State Bank publishes an early-withdrawal penalty of three months of interest for CDs with terms of 3–12 months and six months of interest for terms of 13–60 months. Its CD description says the certificate renews at the current rate after a 10-day grace period. The page separately states that public-funds CDs do not automatically renew, so that renewal description should not be applied to those accounts.
The page does not specify how penalty months become days, the balance used in the charge, or whether the penalty can reduce principal. It also does not define the precise grace-period counting convention. Confirm the customer’s product and existing agreement; the public-funds exception and separate IRA information should not be generalized across all CDs.
